Cody Murphy began working at Siegmund Landscape Supply a little over a year ago after hearing about a job opening from his vice principal, Vicky Storey. Cody started out splitting firewood and doing general labor. After a short hiatus to repair a torn ACL – an injury he’d received two years prior during his junior year football season, Cody returned to the Barkyard in December 2020. In addition to working in the firewood area and Red Devil Firewood bundling operation, Cody operates the loader and does customer deliveries.
Before coming to Siegmund, Cody worked at a hazelnut farm and also did landscaping and house remodeling for a local contractor. Born in Napa, California, Cody says he moved around a lot as a kid, ending up in Oregon when he was in 6th grade and finally landing in Stayton during his 8th grade year. In high school he played football for three years, baseball for two years, and wrestled all four. When he’s not working, Cody spends his days fishing, shooting, hanging out with friends, working on his truck, or just having a relaxed day.
